Many thanks Catherine. In the unit 1 docuemnt there is a nice question about factors affecting insolation - I don't suppose you have a copy of the markscheme for this? I'd like to use it with the kids.

I'm still battling with my internet connection and uploading stuff. I am at the end of the back of beyond it seems and can't upload materials. I keep forgetting to do so at school - will try to remmeber tomorrow!

I adapted this from the old Edexcel GCE - Unit 4 - 14th June 2005. I will look to see if the mark scheme is still available electronically, otherwise I have a hard copy in school that I will seek out.

I am feeling really unsure about how much depth to include, but there are only so many hours available. It is a worry, isn't it? I would be grateful to hear what AQA say in response to your letter.

Hi - I'll post here what they say, letter has gone, so not sure how long it will take to get a response. Did you notice in their SOW guidance a number of different cities were highlighted, - I'm blowed if I can find info!

Hi

I have had a reply regarding the lack of data availbale for in depth case studies linked to urban microclimates. Seems that the examiner is saying some topics will require depth and others are less deep where cs are appropriate. Seems that for micro climates, even in an essay they are not expecting cs! So I'm going to focus on the basic mechanics - using the Collins APHI book - as recommended. Hope this helps you all.....

Hi Paula, some excellent resources on here thank you for uploading them. I have just completed Tectonics and will be starting this in the next few weeks. Do you have a copy of the Weather SoW as I can't see it on here? Thanks Darren.

Hi - I'll up load it back at school - not on this laptop! Essentially 30 ish lessons - the ppt I have used in class and or via our vle for hw reading etc. the stats sheet i have updated using a new text book that was recommended. I haven't started planning the tectonics yet - - i wouldn't mind a copy to see if i'm on the right lines as i've not taught this before. Re uhi i got my students to work in pairs and investigate 8 world cities - diff altitudes / latitudes... came up with some good work, i'll try to add this too. Cheers Paula

Hi folks,

I'm really looking for some advice. We have just finished Plate Tectonics and are about to start Weather. It's something I've never taught before and I'm quite nervous about it! Can anyone who's taught it already give me any top tips/advice for the unit?

I have both of the 'official' textbooks. Do people think one is better to follow than another for Weather?

Any help is greatly appreciated!
