Not planned a huge amount of this stuff yet . Did most of this over the Summer and at the minute still plodding through the Development bit. However bearing in mind the time i have saved using the development thread i thought i should share what i have.

Help yourself to the other materials in the folder. The word document is hyperlinked to the other files in the resources folder.

The Growth of the Suburbs

This was mentioned on The One Show last night. A short clip less than 10 minutes but fits in nicely with the topic of suburbanisation

There is a superb 10 minute clip from Mega cities on you tube looking at Mumbai and transport solutions... well worth a watch.

Also has anyone else been watching BBC World's HOT CITIES series..... AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I get mine from UKNOVA on the internet - being abroad I don't have access to Iplayer, i also don't know if its on here....

But the series is a VERY well written look at MEDC and LEDC cities and the problems faced by impacts of climate change, although the issues tackled are far wider...

On episode 3 so far:

Episode 1 - Migrants to cities and the problems - Mainly set Lagos, Nigeria
Episode 2 - The problems of water demand and flood risks in cities - Mainly Bangladesh
Episode 3 - spread of diseases in overpopulated cities - mainly in Jakarta and Dengue fever

Superb for a broad outlook on this topic , specially if students aren't familiar with LEDC cities.

Mega Cities - Mumbai.

Is this the video that was made by National Geographic? I think it was originally produced in Arabic. It was really good but when I tried to convert it to an avi on Zamzar it would not let me. How did you down load it to use?
