I am just about to start teaching this topic in the New Year. Plenty of experience of deserts as I spent so much time in them in my last job but am in the first year of teaching- those of you who have now taught this through once, any experience / g…

I had mine produce a piece of fieldwork with my more able submitting for EPQ in October to gain additional UMS plus I think to be able to complete 4a they need to have written up a study in detail from start to finish. We were fortunate enough to go…

Great to hear that someone else is doing hot deserts - apparently we were in the minority in the Geog 1 exam in June and so the chief examiner marked all of our scripts - the students did well in this topic and looking at the coasts question - I was…

Thrown yesterday by a class with no Historians who demonstrated a real dislike for the conflict option. I am locked into tectonics + urban already but was intending to use conflict as the third [and quite excited by it]. They were very keen to do Ec…

Thank you so much for the booklet Catherine - it will be really useful! Our Yr12 came back officially yesterday, but as I was out on the A2 course, Thu is inset and Friday is off timetable so that Yr7-10 and parents can meet with tutors, they won't…

The booklet is great - but are you really letting them all do their own individual fieldwork?!! If so I admire you, your very brave! Your students must be great if they are capable of thinking up their own aims, methods etc!

We didn't enter ours for Jan. We went on a 3 day trip to Swanage 2 weeks ago and so am teaching the Skills paper at the moment. I went on an exam Inset on Unit 2 a few weeks ago and can email you the handout the Chief Examiner gave us if you like - lots of practice skills questions and advice. Mine are pretty down at the moment because we did a mock with them last week and they all found it pretty tough! Am looking forward to getting the first lot through!
Thanks,
Tim
